Spotting

If you bleed a tiny bit between your regular periods, it’s known as ‘spotting’ and there are a few reasons why this could be happening. The first is that you could be pregnant. Even though many women who notice spotting at the beginning of a pregnancy go on to have perfectly healthy babies, there’s still a chance something could be wrong. Other causes of spotting include ovulation, vaginal infections, hormonal fluctuations, using or quitting oral contraceptives, low thyroid levels, the use of IUDs and Chlamydia infection. So it makes sense to see your doctor if you’re spotting regularly.
