How much blood is too much?

It’s difficult to say. The average woman loses about four tablespoons of blood when she has her period, but every woman is different. There are a whole variety of reasons why you may bleed more or less than that. Everything from your heritage to your diet can be a factor. The one thing most women have in common is that they all tend to bleed more during the first few days of their period than later on in the menstrual cycle.  But of course, if you’re worried about your period in any way, a trip to your doctor will help put your mind at rest.
